Partials and Dentures

Dentures are also known as “fake teeth” and are removable prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth. They are made of acrylic resin in combination with other materials and are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Dentures are used to replace all or some of the teeth that have been lost. Whether the teeth are lost due to bad oral hygiene, disease, aging or an accident, dentures can help improve your smile. Two different types of dentures are Complete Dentures or Partial Dentures. Patients who have lost all their teeth are candidates for Complete Dentures . These can be removed at night and cleaned and are quite convenient. Complete Dentures are held in place by suction and may cause some soreness in the beginning. Partial dentures are custom designed to fill any spaces created as a result of missing teeth, as well as prevent remaining teeth from shifting out of position.
